On behalf of the SFL community, we are deeply saddened of the passing of Lance Spalding.

Lance was a passionate member of the football community in Tasmania and was universally loved and respected by all.

After a distinguished playing career with Sandy Bay in the old Statewide League competition, which included representing his beloved state, Lance devoted his time to coaching at both senior and junior level including nurturing our young talent with the Mariners and Devils programs.

I was personally coached by Lance at Sandy Bay and I am deeply upset by his passing.

The entire SFL community passes on their condolences to the family and friends of Lance “Springer” Spalding.
