This weekend sees the inaugural Pride Round for the SFL and SFLW across all 6 divisions of Competition. The SFL and SFLW are supporting our clubs to be inclusive and respectful to LGBTIQ+ people and their families involved in football.
The SFL’s Pride Round on the weekend on the 26th to 28th of May 2023 across all six competitions of the SFL/SFLW. This is the first major football competition in Australia to conduct a Pride Round across it’s entire competition. The SFL have the following arrangements for the promotion of Pride Round:
• All home teams will be provided with rainbow socks to wear in their games over the weekend.
• The field and boundary umpires will wear rainbow wrist bands
• Goal umpires will use rainbow goal umpire flags and wear rainbow beanies.
• The SFL will run inclusion sessions with “Working it Out” https://www.workingitout.org.au/ to work with players, officials and clubs to be inclusive and safe environments for all.

About the session
Our LGBTIQ+ Inclusive Practices in Sport training will guide club and sport officials, players and volunteers through a range of interactive learning activities focusing on making sport more inclusive for LGBTIQ+ individuals and communities.
