May 6^th-13^th is Community Umpiring Week, which will culminate in our own Umpire Appreciation Round.

As a sign of support the SFL would ask that all teams across the SFL and SFLW competitions wear a green armband in all matches over the weekend and following the final siren, players from both teams form a ‘Guard of Honour’ outside the umpire’s race and clap the game’s umpires from the ground. We believe that this would be a grand visual gesture in demonstrating appreciation to all umpires around the state with the potential to positively spill over to spectators also. The SFL have been able to source green tape from Clennetts Mitre 10 who have generously donated the tape to the SFL for all games this weekend. The SFL is working on a distribution plan to get the tape to clubs
